Premiere FAQs
I've never been to a movie premiere before, what do I wear ?
The days of formal attire for movie premieres are long gone. Today most people dress in what we like to call "LA Trendy" style. Just wear what you would if you were going out to an upscale club with your friends. OR - you could of course come in any RINGERS or "Lord of the Rings" inspired costumes. There will be a costume contest at the premiere's after party.
Where do I park?
Unfortunately, there really are not many parking lots in the area! You should be able to find street parking around Sunset, Sunset Drive, or Hillhurst. There is a paid lot next to "The Good Luck Bar" on Hillhurst, adjacent to the Vista Theatre. If you drive down Sunset Drive past RUDY's Barbershop (Our after party location) you might find parking on Hoover street.
What's going to happen at the premiere?
First you'll need to probably queue up. (But Ringers are so used to lining up that they don't mind! Right?) We'll have a check in at the Vista Theatre where you'll present your Pay Pal ticket print-out. Then depending on whether you're going to the after party we'll give you a wrist band for that. Expect lots of press and a red carpet for any celebs who may attend. Then we'll screen RINGERS followed by a short Q & A from the filmmakers. Then we go and PAR-TAY at Rudy's. Rudy's is a well-known place for hot Indie-film parties!
What's going to happen at the after party?
The after party will be held at Rudy's Barbershop. It's literally a few doors down Sunset Drive from the Vista Theatre. You cross the street (towards Uncle Jer's) and it's right next door to Uncle Jer's. You'll then need to show your government issued ID (18 and over only). At the party beer, wine and soft drinks are free, as well. Click HERE for map.
Do you only take Pay Pal, or can I use my credit card?
While we use the very secure Pay Pal shopping cart on the RINGERS store, this cart also accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. And of course you can also use your Pay Pal account.
Is it secure?
Yes. That is why we're using the Pay Pal shopping cart. For extra security we process all of our transactions on the Pay Pal servers, which is why the look and feel of the cart does not resemble our site.
Are any "Lord of the Rings" stars attending?
Well...we're inviting them. Whether or not they can come is up to them and their busy schedules. No stars are guaranteed to attend. If any stars do attend, the Vista Theatre is offering to have their handprints and signatures imprinted in cement in front of the theater before the screening! Of course, we know that we'll all have a great time whether stars attend or not! We know for sure that some of our other interviewees will be attending, such as author Peter S. Beagle.
If any stars attend can I get my picture with them or their autograph at the party?
We know that most Ringers are going to be there to have a good time with their fellow Ringers and to enjoy the film, not to get autographs. If this is what you're after, may we suggest that you attend O.R.C. where you are guaranteed an autograph and a photo op with a "Lord of the Rings" star!
Is this a charity event?
Yes! Our charity is The National Center for Family Literacy. This is one of the charities that Sean Astin supports. The net proceeds from the screening and party will go to them! (Net proceeds are what's left after all expenses have been paid.) SONY Pictures Home Entertainment will NOT be paying for the after party. The RINGERS filmmakers are running this party with staffers from TheOneRing.net. We're trying to keep party expenses down as much as possible so that the charity can earn more money! We'll have a costume contest, silent auction and lots of dancing at the party!
